Yakela condensate gas field is located in the northern part of Tarim basin within Arkesu district, Xinjiang Urgur Autonomous region about 50km east-south of Kuqa county and about 25km to Wu-Ga highway.
Yakela condensate gas field was discovered by the industrial gas flowing from well Shacan-2 on Sept.22,1984. As of the end of 1984, it had proven OGIP 196.28×108m3 and 353.8×104t OOIP of gas condensate in the field. Yakela condensate gas field is a medium gas field with high abundance.
