The pipeline construction from Puyang(in Henan province) to Changzhou(zhong-chang pipeline) commenced on the first day of Apl.1985 and completed on Apr.28,1986. It has a total length of 361.89km, design pressure 5.1Mpa and an annual transportation capacity of 6 ×108m3, supplying gas for Changzhou chemical plant since Aug.7,1985. The pipeline passes through railways at 4 places, roads at 38 places and rivers at 92 places. The initial station is equipped with imported type T4500 combustion gas turbine and two centrifugal compressors as well as auxiliary equipments, being as the first gas transmission pipeline installed with compression equipment in China. The pipes were replaced on Oct.20,1999 and operating resumed on Oct.22,1999. It was operated by the blockage operation department of the Pipeline Technology Company, designed by the formal pipeline survey & design institute and constructed by No. 2 & 3 pipeline companies.
