| Yumen Oilfeild is located in Jiuquan basin and its
headquarters is based in Yumen city, Ganshu province. It occupies
114.37 km2 in total, being as one of basins put into exploration and
development earliest in China.
The commercial oil flow from K pay zone in well No. 1 on 27th Aug.
1939 revealed Laojunmiao oilfield. Yumen mine was liberated on 25th
Sept. 1949. In 1957, Yumen oilfield ¨C the first natural oil base
in new China was brought into being. In 1959, its oil production
was 140.29 X 104 t/a, accounting for 50.9% of the total production
in China. An excellent achievement of steady production at 60¡Á104
t/a for ten years in 70¡¯s last century and at 50¡Á104 t for ten years
in 80¡¯s was made.
Yumen is the first fossil oil base as well as the first oil city
in China, which has 60 year history in oil recovery and processing
as called as a cradle for the Chinese oil industry. In terms of
production stabilization in mature oilfield, it reaches the standard
of class one oilfield in CNPC and its major oilfield ¨C Laojunmiao
has been appraised as one of 14 oilfields with high efficiency in
development, which creates the highest record in Chinese oilfield
development history.
