Suqiao condensate gas field is located in the eastern Baxian sag of Jizhong depression across Baxian county and Wenan county in the central Hebei province, 80 km south of Beijing and 40km west of Tianjin. It is a faulted block oil and gas field, consisting of many small faulted block gas reservoirs.
Suqiao condensate gas field was discovered by the industrial gas flowing from well Su-1 in Nov.1982. As of the end of 1998, following resources had been proven: oil-bearing area 33.7 km2，OOIP 2063×104t ；gas-bearing area 28.5 km2 ，OGIP 131.05×108m3 and gas condensate OOIP 269.3×104t . With a yearly gas production of 1.66×108m3 , the gas production had been accumulated to 9.3×108m3 by the end of 1998.
