Located in the northern coast of Bohai Gulf and in
an area of ¡°Golden Triangle¡± across Bejing, Tianjin and Tanggu, Jidong
oilfield is based in Tangshan city. Its operation covers a total area
of about 6300 KM2 from the southern foot of Yanshan mountain in north
to the 5m fathom line in Bohai in south and from Jianhe river in west
to Qinhuangdao district in east, across two cities (Tangshan and Qinhuangdao)
and seven counties (Tanghai, Fengnan, Luannan, Laoting, Changli, Funing
and Luanxian). It is a vigorous and developing oilfield with 7¡Á108
t oil and gas resources. Its exploration and development area includes
3,600 km2 of land and 2,700 km2 intertidal zone and extremely shallow
sea.
After its separation from Dagang oilfield in April, 1988, a number
of oilfields such as Beibao, Tangnan, Gaoshangbao, Laoyemiao and Mingliuzhan
have been discovered in Jidong oilfield, Now, it has an oil bearing
area of 48.6km2 proven and 86.77 ¡Á106 t proven reserves. Its annual
production capacities are 62 ¡Á104 t oil and 50 ¡Á106 m3 gas respectively.
