Huabei Oilfield is based in Renqiu city of Jizhong
plain, central of Hebei province. Its oil and gas exploration covers
primarily Jizhong plain in Hebei province, Erlian basin in Inner
Monglia and Qinshui basin in Shanxi province.
Oil and gas exploration in Huabei oilfield initialed in 1955, On
July 4, 1975, Renqiu oilfield - the largest burial hill type carbonate
oilfield in China was discovered as a result of the high yield commercial
oil flowing (thousand ton per day) from an exploration well Ren-4
in Jizhong plain. In 1978, its annual oil production reached 1,723¡Á104
t£¬making great contribution to the breakthrough of one hundred million
ton of annual oil productivity in China in the same year. Since
then, ten million ton oil production per year had been maintained
for ten years till 1986. Over twenty years, in Jizhong and Erlian,
there had been 47 oilfields developed and constructed. More than
1,900 km pipelines have been laid totally for oil gathering and
transportation to refineries in Shijiazhuang, Changzhou and Yanshan
Petrochemical as well as for natural gas delivery to Beijing.
